Somizi Mhlongo discusses his 9 years as a judge on Idols SA.
The media personality was a part of the show from its start in South Africa until the 19th and final season.
The show’s previous season concluded on Sunday with Thabo as the champion.
Some took to social media to upload a video in which he discussed his fantastic experience working on the show.
“My Journey on South African Idols when I started 9 years ago… I can boldly stand on a mountain and say Idols is the only place I have worked for 9 years, and I can boldly say it was a non-toxic environment,” he said.
“That place was heaven. I had the best experience in a working environment in that place. From the crew, I have never seen a place where everyone is happy to be there. From the guys who do my mic, the ladies who do the makeup, and everyone else. From the drivers to the security to the producers, to everybody guys, that environment was amazing,” Som added.
The South African star also eulogized the channel that aired the show. From MNet to Mzansi Magic.
“The channels, Mzansi Magic and Mnet would go beyond to ensure you are fine. They look after your.”
He also revealed that Idols SA made him more famous and a superstar.
“For me personally, When i joined Idols, I was famous, but I became a superstar because of Idols. I wouldn’t be as influential as I am if not for South African Idols. and for that I will forever be grateful.”
“The band and singers are beautiful and super talented. Thanks to the audience. I know God has so many things in store. Unto the next one,” he concluded.
